SLE – Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a disease characterized by the production of autoantibodies directed against a wide spectrum of nuclear, cytoplasmic, and cell membrane autoantigens.
Toscana Biomarkers in cooperation with the Clinical Immunology Unit of the University of Pisa (Italy) is working on the identification of new specific and selective biomarkers for SLE. An European patent application [EP 2284188A1 - US 2011028409A1] on the use of modified peptides for SLE diagnosis has been filed.
